Don't trust paypal. Buyers can take your item and file petty disputes such as "Item not as described" etc.

This can cause loss to seller.

Paypal is notorious for account limitations and suspensions causing seller harassment.

Build your business via wire transfer into your bank account. Paypal is ok for small amounts.

I tried to open store on ebay.com but failed. It says to link card. I tried to link international visa debit card but it failed.

Kindly help me.

Also there is restriction by Paypal that we can't receive more than $3000 in single transaction, why ?

If our item costs more than $3000 then how to receive this payment ? Many days ago I had listed one camcorder of valy $7100, many of my customers tried to pay but failed. The denied to pay through multi invoices.

Plz help me.

i prefer PayPal for selling internationally. it is secure and mainly it is part of ebay. the funds will directly transfer to your bank accounts once a buyer pays using paypal. so i prefer and advice sellers to open an paypal account. it is free and 100% secure.

thanx for the info. One of my relatives is into ICICI bank and she is coming at my place today....will ask her abt. money remittance and the other payment issues.:)

International payment is easiest using remitting services of ICICI. Fast, cheap and best. Available on all major International countries transfer to any Indian banks. Dont use paypal as service, conversion and other charges eat more than 10% I believe almost 15% and also ebay charges another 5% and taxes. Best is to register for IEC use ICICI bank and us the internation payment option using ICICI gateways.

At first I was very much reluctant to sell my mobile at eBay following the negative remarks and feedbacks from my fellow forum participants but then...after much research and checking out the other options I decided to go for it (some of the recyclers are also very good and highly recommended by many people).....looking to register soon.....hope everything goes well....fingers crossed!!

Hello

I want to know through which payment method, payments above $500 are accepted by Indian sellers selling abroad. For payments below $500 paypal is the best option. Does anyone know any alternative method of payment above $500?

:-DHI

If u want to ship internallationaly , you need to have paypal ID. And when a product is brought by a international buyer first the payment is made, which can be transfered to your bank account.
Once you are convinced you can go forward and ship the product .
It's that easy.......................

hi everyone,

my problem is that, an international buyer asked for the product... the value of the product will remain same but the shipping charges will differ.. so, my question is ... do i have to create a new listing for that customer with revised shipping rates.

Dear All,

Hello !

As we are here discussing about international payments so I would like to share my experience with all my co-sellers.

Basic Requirement to Export anything:
1)Must Have Pan No. (Income Tax No.)
2)IEC Code
3)An Current Account of Your Firm In Any Nationalize Bank dealing in foreign currencies.
---------------------------------------------------------
Receiving Funds Through Paypal is totally Illegal. Still we are accepting it because we don't have any alternate.
but it is not the proper way to export.
---------------------------------------------------------
For Gem & Jewellery Sellers - Can't Ship a single Rupees jewellery of precious metals or precious or semi-precious through courier.
You can clear all your doubts by visiting the link below.
http://www.helplinelaw.com/docs/main.php3?id=CLPR2
You can clear the picture.
---------------------------------------------------------
The legal way to receive the payment is Wire Transfer (T.T), D.D, Cheque or Credit Card through proper channel.
---------------------------------------------------------
Wire transfer (T.T) - It is very simple and anyone who are having IEC code and Current account and wish to export can use this facility by providing your buyer the bank swift code. Each and every bank has there own unique payment route, which can be get by visiting to bank. Each currency has a different swift code so keep in mind when you forward it to your buyer.
---------------------------------------------------------
There is a fix format of Export Invoice. You can get this format in the market or can email me at ganpatishoppee@gmail.com with your email address.
You must have to ship this parcel using EMS (SPEED POST) 4 copies of Invoice either printed or typed. Custom supervisor will inspect your parcel, values on invoice and article details. If everything is fine custom people will seal the parcel and endorsed the invoice and return you two copies of invoice. Now you can deposit parcel at speed post counter. They will issue a receipt which is most important while you submit the invoice to bank in case if you are receiving money via T.T you must have to submit the invoice within 21 days to bank. Bank forward these documents to RBI. So that is properly an export. It is a very easy process.
---------------------------------------------------------
if anyone know more about legalization about PayPal please let me know.
Thank you.

With Regards

i gone through several postings,
probably one can get payment from internationla buyer to their bank account through payment gatway, Paypal is one of them, there are several payment gatways . even icici has that facility. they get payment from the buyers through credit card and credite our account and deduct their commition.

Paypal is perfectly legal. There is no limit as to what you can receive as you receive payment in rupees and not in foreign currency.

Paypal seems to be a safer option ( atleast to me) than paisapay as money is credited instantly to your account. When you send out items use a reputable courier which has online tracking and you nullify chances for charge back. EMS speed post will do.

Paypal has a new system where you can add your bank account number and IFSC number and get credited directly to your bank account if you do not want to receive money by cheques.
You can ask your bank what your IFSC number and update your paypal account.
As for FIRC/PP Form is concerned your post office is wrong. You can export anything upto Rs 25000 through courier with minimal paperwork.

Receiving Payments from International Buyers

Guys and all eBay sellers !!

Warning using PAYPAL in India.

First we are not at all protected with any seller protection from PayPal and eBay will just dissaper from the picture if you have any problem with the buyer.

If you want to sell internationally just list you item on eBay.in and mark as ship internationally . Accept Payment only in Paise Pay or Bank transfer or Check payable in India at par. But dont ever offer PayPal.

Foreign buyers take us for Granted and would file a chargeback once they receive the item and PayPal will block your money without any communication and you will be out of money and your item as well.

if you go thru any posting on eBay.in you will see that no eBay staff or the pinks will ever reply here because they know what it is all

belive me but this is one issue you will NEVER get help from eBay or any goverment in India.

PayPal is not the right method to receive money

Hello friends,
Thanks for all the suggestions:
Well this thing happened to me.I wanted to sell sony ericsson k790i and put it on this site.I got the buyer immediately the same day, he was from london wanted to ship to nigeria. This warned me as i was aware of cheaters in africa.
I immediately relisted my item, and again immediately i got the buyer, this time too she was from london wanted to ship to nigeria...I was sure theres something wrong going on..Then she replied me through mail abt giving my bank address as she wanted to transfer the money. Then after few days i got mail from butterfield saying that your money transfer is in process... Then after couple of days, i get an mail from Ebay saying that we have received your money and you can carry on your transaction as we fully garuntee about the security of the product...I mailed this story to Ebay helpline mail address, so far no reply from there tooo.
Since theres lot of confusion in my mind, I havnt sent my item to the given nigerian address.

I dont know weather the money sent is fake, or the confirmation from Ebay is fake etc etc...
How to tackle this problem...

Hello Seller's

Can any one plz guide on this: There are so many International Buyer's from LONDON who all want to sent there product to NIGERIA. All have same reason either as Birthday Gift or some other Gift. Every one ask for personal details and banking details, confirm on paying and after taking details they start there comments of various payment options. There is lot to discuss and say upon this but its too long to write. As soon as they confirm to buy (only confirmed but not paid) EBAY add its charges of final value fee in our invoices. Its fine but it should be done after the dealing closes. If we earn through EBAY we need to pay charges but if we lose through EBAY we the only one who has to bear, isnt it?

Nywz as per the Payment option, it was not mentioned that the payment will done via EBAY and EBAY takes gaurantee in association with ONLINE Bank.

Plz all seller's should ask EBay to add PAYMENT VIA EBAY in payment options of EBAY and many more small points so that one feels nice to trade with EBAY.

Hi All

I'm also a seller both from ebay & I do international selling on my own.

Now one of my buyers is asking me whether he can send the payment through his credit card or not.

So for this the first option that came through my mind was paypal. But after reading abt it i don't think its a better option.

To know more abt Paypal check this site:
paypal sucks

So I talked to citibank, they said this is not possible

transferring funds from one's credit card to another's a/c is not possible, however transferring funds from one's a/c to someone's a/c or credit card is possible.

Moreover according to RBI's Regulation we normally cannot receive payments through credit cards. if the person wants to pay by his/her credit card he should be physically present in India.

So I don't know what to do,. please help me abt it

Naman Jandial

Hello onesimpleman_in1!

Thank you for posting the remedy to clear funds from PayPal.

PaisaPay is the best credit card processor for Indian Sellers to accept payments from International buyers. But at times some buyers prefer to pay by their PayPal account. Hence I have an account with PayPal and have received 5 cheques till now. The problem I am facing is of cheque clearance. PayPal sends the cheque of Citibank and in our city, Ranchi Citibank branch is not available. So it takes lot of time to clear.

My question is, does any of our Community Members are using xoom.com to get the payment from their PayPal account? Is the process of receiving funds easy with it? How long time it takes for clearance and what are the Bank Charges?

It is illegal to use western union as an ebay payment method.
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/payment.html

You can use paypal or moneybookers.
https://www.moneybookers.com/app/?rid=654129
Fees for moneybookers is less than paypal for Indian Sellers. Also it is a respected payment service among international ebayers.

Also you can have a friend open a paypal account for you in UK or USa and use a service like remit2india.com or Xoom to send money to your Indian bank account from your paypal account. This can be done online. So you do not have to bother your friend.

Problems with Paypal:
I use paypal for my international sales after I was told by ebay guys to do so. I still receive calls from ebay people praising about Paypal, But It has been 25 days I withdrew my money from Paypal, I did not receive it. It is quite a big money ! and they send all cheques by Normal air mail , not even Registered Air Mail, so there is no tracking, if the post man delivers it to wrong address or throws off, you wont even know about it. I wrote twice to paypal, they did not answer(Except Automated Reply Saying "Due to an increase in email volumes, we may not have been able to answer
your email.
"). I called ebay.in (Ebay India)- they said they cant help and told me to keep writing again and again and again to Paypal, they also informed me that there is no Paypal contact in India , I went on Live Chat with eBay.com (EBAY USA), they say, they cant help about the Paypal. So there is no one to listen me. Paypal has not bothered to answer my emails. I dont know where my money is.

Dear Subrata Ganai,
If u want to get ur self verified for paypal u ave to enter ur credit card number instead of debit card number.
Yes u can receive the paypal payment without verification. Just give ur paypal ID to ur buyer and he will made the payment. Please note that paypal will only send u the cheque if u have balance of 150USD in ur paypal account. Also paypal will deduct 5USD from ur account for dispatching of cheque. U can contact me for more info.
Bye
Take Care:)

Hello,

Best part till now regarding receiving payment through international buyers is paisa pay. You can easily receive payment through paisa pay.

Now my question:
Suppose we send small packets upto value of less than 10000.00 to international buyer as free trade samples should the seller expect any problem in future. As it is very easy for both seller and buyer to send and receive products as Free Trade Sample......

Hi,

To summarize,
For small sellers PaisaPay is still the best and least complicated.
Better to have a IEC to avoid any possible future complicacies.
